The original Czech brand Dermacol cherishes the female beauty for over half a century. One of the first covering foundations in the world has been developed in the Czech laboratory of Dermacol. Already in the 60‘ it has been used by Hollywood stars and ever since Dermacol has been the synonym of a perfect skin make-up not only in the Czech Republic but all over the world.
The Dermacol brand launched more than 50 years ago in the Barrandov Film Studios. Soon, film studio experts teamed up with dermatologists from the Medical Cosmetics Institute in Prague. The aim was to create a covering foundation in order to help common people with skin imperfections. The beautician Mrs. Olga Knoblochová was with the brand from the very beginning.
“At a dermatologic congress held in Hight Tatras (Slovakia), I was demonstrating how to cover a large nevus on the face of a 20-year old medical student. The student saw herself in the mirror without her skin defect for the first time in her life, and she was so touched that she bursted into tears.” Recalls Mrs. Knoblochová, ever since known as Lady Dermacol.
Dermacol Make-up Cover, one of the first foundations in the world, has become the best assistant of female beauty all over Europe. This year, the license is sold to film studios in Hollywood. The beauty of many film stars has had its origins from Dermacol in Prague.
The range of Dermacol products is expanding. In the category of skin creams, the Lady Cream and the Princess Cream will start writing the history. Both creams are still popular even today.
What is in my bag? In 1972 in the former Czechoslovakia, this would be the usual content. Dermacol has been then producing not only skin care products but also compact powder eye shadows.
Dermacol brand separated from the Film studios Barrandov. However, the brand cosmetics were produced in the studios for the next eleven years.
The Dermacol brand is taken over by Věra and Vladimír Komár. The brand becomes a proud Czech family business and a symbol of famous Czech women.
The production of Dermacol transferred to a factory in Brno where they produce the traditional as well as new foundations and creams for more than ten years. There are 150 employees in the factory.
The first experience Dermacol store and a beauty salon opened in Prague. The experience Dermacol store offers a wide selection of nail polishes, eye shadows, lip glosses, lip sticks, and foundations, as well as the complete assortment of skin and body care products.
The traditional Czech cosmetics brand Dermacol is in business for over 50 years. A magnificent celebration of the gold anniversary has hosted three generations of the Czech family which through their innovative ideas fulfil the desires of women of all ages.
